With more than 27 years in the swimming pool and spa industry, I bring real, hands-on experience to every business I support. For 25 years I owned and operated a multi-award-winning pool and spa retail and service business, giving me practical insight into what it takes to run and grow a successful operation.
I’m a qualified trainer and licensed pool technician, holding diplomas in Business, Leadership and Management, plus industry-specific qualifications across Pool & Spa Service, Retail, Aquatic Technical Operations and Certified Pool Operator (US).
Above all, I’m passionate about helping pool and spa business owners strengthen their operations, lighten their workload and reach their full potential.

This is a common belief – but I beg to differ! Our business was profitable through every winter in the last 10 years of business – once I put into place some key practices. Staff – the quality of or the availability of, are common complaints I hear from industry. I can say that having come from an area where ‘pickings’ were slim to none; I understand the concern and feel your pain. Staff can be your biggest headache BUT also your biggest asset – are you aiding their failings or are you building their success? Every business has the same pain but different causes, we strip back the cause, address the issues, build a strategy and deliver a strong team that can power you on into the future. The keys to success are building a strong culture, developing a career pathway, bringing your staff in on the journey, creating ‘buy-in’. People don’t care until they understand your ‘why’.

Absolutely! And one of the first things we can work on is creating more time in your day. It is vital that you make time to work on your business not just in it, so while making time to work with me might seem like a huge ask, just like “you’ve got to spend money to make money” – “you’ve got to invest time to create time”. It is important that you set aside time for your coaching sessions – uninterrupted, undistracted; and it’s important that you ‘do your homework’ – change doesn’t just happen by magic, you have to make the change, be the change. However, change doesn’t need to be big to make a difference, the KAIZEN approach – that small, ongoing positive changes can reap significant improvements. One of my favourite sayings is – “how do you eat an elephant?” …….. one bite at a time. Small, manageable changes, to add up to significant improvements.

Yes, I can come and spend time in your business, it can give me some great insight into how your business functions. A professional outsider’s prospective can often see bottlenecks and issues that you and your team are oblivious to or don’t know how address. I can also undertake a ‘mystery shopper’ of your business, 1:1 meetings with your staff, a review of your retail presentation and customer service experience, amongst other assignments. I ask for a minimum 6-month commitment. It takes time and commitment for you to see change and ultimately the benefits that come from it. Some changes you will see straight away, others take months to see the results. If you are committed to the cause, implement the changes, you will see the results. It’s a bit like an exercise routine, do it once or twice or for a week or two, and you will see little to no difference – you’ll likely only experience the pain that comes with exercising muscles that haven’t been used in a long time; but committing to exercising regularly on an ongoing basis you see real change, muscle definition and a level of fitness you could only have dreamed of in the beginning. Committing to making change and improvements in your business is no different.
